UNDERSTANDING CREDIT
Get to know your credit profile.
Here are some of the things lenders may consider when reviewing an application.
Explore the resources- Outstanding Debts
- Any balances you currently owe - including credit cards, student loans, or other personal loans - that remain unpaid.
- Available Credit
- The unused portion of your credit limit across all credit accounts. A higher available credit ratio generally reflects positively.
- Payment History
- A record of whether you have paid your past and current debts on time. This is one of the most significant factors in your credit score.
- Legal Matters
- Any bankruptcies, judgments, or collections that may appear on your credit file and signal financial risk to lenders.
BANK VERIFICATION
Less paperwork. More clarity.
Instant Bank Verification (IBV) lets a lender review your income and banking activity through a read-only connection.
You complete this step in the application portal. Review the provider’s terms and the information requested before authorizing access.
Completing verification does not guarantee loan approval.

COSIGNER SUPPORT
A little extra support.
Depending on your circumstances, a lender may request a cosigner. Here are some situations where additional support may help.
Limited Credit History
Early credit profiles or thin files may benefit from a cosigner to strengthen the overall application.
Income Structure
Self-employment, contract work, or seasonal income may require additional assessment.
Past Credit Challenges
Previous credit difficulties need not be a barrier. A cosigner can open doors that may otherwise remain closed.
Cosigns.ca
A specialized, independent cosigner facilitation service. No upfront search required from you.
Cosigner Terms
Cosigner services have a separate agreement. Review all associated fees before accepting.
Read legal disclosure
A lender may require a qualified cosigner in some cases. Cosigns.ca is an independent provider. Its terms and fees are separate from the lender’s agreement. Review both agreements and the total cost before proceeding. Approval remains at the lender’s discretion.

FAQ
Can I apply?
You must be a Canadian resident, of legal age in your province, with an active bank account and a source of income. Eligibility and approval depend on the lender.
What credit history do I need?
We work with all credit profiles. A strong credit history can help you qualify for better terms, but we also support applicants with limited or imperfect credit. Our IBV process helps us assess your situation beyond just your credit score.
Can I apply again?
A new application depends on lender requirements and your existing commitments. Contact the team if you already have an outstanding loan.
When will I receive the funds?
After approval and signing, funding depends on the lender and bank processing times. No funding time is guaranteed.
What is the interest rate?
Rates and fees depend on your offer. Review the annual rate, total borrowing cost, and payment schedule in the lender’s agreement before signing.
How do I know my payment amount?
The lender’s offer should show each payment amount, its frequency, and your total repayment. Review these details before accepting.
What happens if I default?
If you miss a payment or are unable to repay, we encourage you to contact us immediately. While defaults may impact your credit file and lead to collection activity, early communication gives us the best chance to find a workable solution.
Are there any conditions?
To qualify, you must be a Canadian resident, of legal age in your province, have an active bank account, and have a steady source of income. Approval is also subject to review of your IBV data.
Do loans renew automatically?
No. Loans do not renew automatically. Once your loan is fully repaid, you must submit a new application if you wish to borrow again.
What is an amortization schedule?
An amortization schedule is a table showing each payment due over the life of a loan, including how much goes toward interest and how much reduces the principal. We provide this before finalizing your loan.
What about credit reporting?
Reporting and collection practices vary by lender. Read your agreement and contact your lender if you have difficulty making a payment.
